⌈ CHARACTER SECTION ⌉

Character: 707 (Seven)
Age: 21 (International) / 22 (Korean)
Canon: Mystic Messenger
Canon Point: Jumin's Route, day 10, around 11pm

Background: Here! Note: Everything underneath the Background Story section is spoilers for the ENTIRE GAME, so if you don't want to be spoiled, don't read the part labeled Deep Story!

Personality: The easiest way to understand Seven's personality is to break it into the different personas that he shows throughout the game.

The one that the player meets immediately upon starting the game is 707, Seven the internet troll and hacker. He only interacts through the game's chat program format, so he riddles the room with chatspeak, gifs, and cat pics. It isn't a stretch to describe him as a 4chan troll, circa 2006. Seven enjoys joking with the other RFA members, teasing them and playing tricks on the group's most gullible member, Yoosung, and generally being a benign nuisance. He often posts pics of his cars, complains about his maid and his job, makes cat puns, and talks about his garbage diet of Honey Buddha Chips and PhD Pepper. Regardless, he's not just a nuisance; he also pulls favors for his friends, using his hacking skills to promote the RFA's local actor, Zen, or gleefully put together a presentation for their resident overworked secretary, Jaehee.

The man behind this playful farce is Luciel Choi, a bitter, deeply dysfunctional slob mired in spywork, whose only outlet is all the money he gets for his hacking skills. Unfortunately, he rarely has enough time off to spend the vast amounts of money he gets, resulting in purchases like high-end sports cars and spur-of-the-moment vacations to untouched Pacific islands. Because of his work, Luciel rarely sees others, not even his closest friends in the RFA. He's also a posterchild for ADHD (which is actually discussed on the messenger a few times), including the quick mood downswings that come with it. This surfaces in certain phonecalls if the player chooses another route, and even in his own route if the player touches a certain floppy disc of his.

Speaking of his route, when he begins to get closer to the player character, Luciel shows this bitter, stand-offish side quite well. He simultaneously pushes her away - scolding her, pretending he doesn't like her, being a general douchebag - but also scolds her if she leaves his sight for even seven minutes. This is because, being an actual spy, Luciel believes that he'll never be able to keep anyone close to him. Spywork is dangerous, and as his "maid" (actually his boss) likes to point out, having family and close friends is a liability and puts those people in danger. This is such a deeply ingrained principle in Luciel's mind that it causes him to forcefully push anyone away that gets too close to him; he even acknowledges that he'll very soon have to part ways with the RFA and simply vanish one day.

Underneath all of this is Saeyoung, Seven's birth name. Saeyoung is a lonely young man who just wanted to do right by his twin brother and protect him from their mother's abuse. Deep down, buried underneath all the internet trolling and bitter spy rhetoric is just a good, optimistic kid who got saved by the church (literally) and wants to do good, helpful things for his friends and brother. If the player pursues Seven's route, the main character does move through all the layers of Seven's personality to reach Saeyoung; he eventually discards the Luciel name and personality entirely to just become Saeyoung again.

Ultimately, Seven is an internet troll, a hacker, a very bitter man, and a very good guy underneath it all. Although most people will only experience the trolly, fun parts, it's entirely possible to touch on the other parts due to game effects or relationship development.

Abilities: Physical: Being a spy, Seven does have some physical training. Sadly, because his diet really does consist of soda and chips and he stays inside a LOT, he's not as fit as he could be, but he's still pretty dang capable. He can handle guns, do hand-to-hand combat, and hold his own in a normal fight. He's also a pretty good driver.

Mental: Being a hacker, Seven is familiar with pretty much any given computer or phone operating system, and writes video games and viruses in his spare time for fun. At one point, he hacks the MC's phone to see her through the camera. He's also capable enough to create robot cats and firebreathing dogs from scratch, complete with AI personalities.

Alignment: Piphron - perfect for a guy who won't actually let anyone in and keeps everyone at arm's length! Not so much that he distrusts them, but he distrusts that they'll be okay if he gets involved with them.

Other: The name Luciel is actually a reference to Satan, just like it sounds. Seven picked the name himself to remind him to stay on a good path and keep from "falling".

Also, his ideal marriage is on a space station. That's a thing that's in canon.
